Cancer of the uterus and ovaries

The ovaries are responsible for the production of female sex hormones - estrogen and progesterone. In addition, they are also a storehouse for female sex cells - eggs. In the case of fertilization, it settles in the uterus, which thus functions as an "incubator" for babies.

Symptoms of ovarian or uterine cancer

A tumor on the ovary or in the uterus can manifest itself by:

  • Bleeding after menopause
  • Irregular menstruation
  • Bloody discharge

Cancer of the uterus most often appears in women around 60 years of age.

How can I prevent this?

Prevention includes a healthy diet, enough exercise and enough sleep. It is also important not to smoke and avoid alcohol. It is equally important to visit regular preventive examinations at the gynecologist once a year.
